OG LogoOrgano Gold, the gourmet coffee company that caters to consumers’ active lifestyles, has quickly responded to the typhoon disaster in the Philippines — providing substantial financial assistance towards the relief efforts. The funds were donated to OG Cares Philippines for local distribution, where they will help people suffering in the wake of the devastating storm, which has caused widespread flooding and destruction of property.
“We stand united with our friends and neighbors in the Philippines during this challenging time; our thoughts and prayers are with you,” said Bernardo Chua, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Organo Gold. Chua originally hails from the Philippines, so this is a cause close to his heart.
News agencies have reported that Typhoon Haiyan was one of the strongest storms to make landfall in recorded history. A New York Times report said that according to the Philippine Social Welfare and Development Department, the storm has affected an estimated 4.28 million people in about 270 towns and cities spread across 36 provinces in the central Philippines.
